Welcome to a Shanghai that is even more crowded and bustling than usual thanks to the tourist season and our annual Shopping Festival that has just begun. Over 17 million locals as well as Chinese and foreign tourists from all over the world flock to Shanghai to get the best bargains and attend the many public events that occur during the Festival.

These crowds may especially be seen on Nanjing Road, the number one shopping street in Shanghai where many of our ShangBy retailers offer their beautiful jewelry. Just to reach what we call "Pearl City" is a struggle due to the enormous crowds (another good reason to shop on shangby.com and let us do all the work). Next to the entrance to Pearl City is a store that sells moon cakes, a sweet Chinese delicacy enjoyed this time of year. I'm really not sure what was more crowded, the stores or the moon cake shop, but they both were packed at all hours of the day and night!

Aside from the great food and shopping that can be found during the Festival, there are also many public concerts held throughout the city. In fact, if you watch ShangBuyers Amy and Amanda during their live events on Shangby.com you can hear the voice of this year's winner of "China's Idol"!
